Stolas website re-vamp

With a huge number of boating and fishing magazines featuring us in the coming months we have taken the time to "re-vamp" the front page of our home on the WWW to a more relaxed water theme.

Announcing our NEW logo!   Boss man Curtis has been hard at work the last couple weeks designing a logo that would represent our maritime timepieces, and be bold enough to symbolize our aggressive "outside  the box" designs.  Of course we kept the BOLT :)   This logo will now be our official company seal!

Harbormaster Gennaker is now ENERGIZED!

The STØLÅS Harbormaster Gennaker just got ENERGIZED!  You can now select a custom color for your lightning bolt second hand.

When selecting the Gennaker in the STØLÅS online shop you are prompted to select a custom Energized color if you wish.  This adds a great diversity to your individualism and creates your special identity.

Tsunami 100% Red Cross Auction

Up for bid is a 1-of-a-kind Gennaker Tsunami featuring an ETA 2824-2 movement, Sapphire Case Back, special Tsunami & Earthquake inspired logo dial and red lightning second hand. The watch is attached by a great high quality rubber strap as well as a Red/Black Zulu harness.

Standard features of the Tsunami are followed in the Gennaker™ model featuring our MLC™ (Midnight Luminary Composite) lume material applied to the bezel for complete reference at all hours day & night. The carbon fiber dial lights up to "retina damaging brightness" with the super high-grade lume particles embedded in the hour markers, numbers, and hands!

The case is built from surgical grade Stainless Steel including the patent pending rotating bezel with our MLC and then coated in a thick PVD application and polished for a complete unique Harbormaster™ from STØLÅS.

Harbormaster Genoa featured in iW Magazine

It was a phone call we didn't expect for five years down the road... A call from a watch magazine publishing Editor -in-Chief wanting to feature our Harbormaster Genoa in their upcoming Nautical issue in September 2011. We were absolutely thrilled!

We have had great review after great review but nothing compares to being featured in one of the largest watch magazines in the world! It is a great feeling to know that our designs have stood out from the crowd and knowing to be selected you have to have the respect of a great designer.

Our very first model made it in our first year. We are looking forward to the future but keeping our minds here in the present designing another delicious collection. :)

STØLÅS begins Donations to North Alabama Storm Victims

STØLÅS Watch Co. is lucky to have escaped the Alabama Tornadoes with minimal damage. However, within only miles in each direction there is catastrophic damage and loss of life. Being rated as one of the worst (second to Katrina) natural disasters in US history and causing more damage than in fact Katrina, we would like to help.

There is damage like this all throughout the northern half of the state from Tuscaloosa and Birmingham through Huntsville and beyond.


STØLÅS will be donating 10% of all sales through the month of May and possibly into June if the need arises.

We are fortunate but there are so many other who are not.

We thank the vast amount of volunteers who have been helping with the cleanup and those who have even come from out-a-state.

Tsunami Releif Limited Edition and Raffle

The STOLAS Watch Co. would like to help those in need after the Japan earthquake and tsunami. If you would like to help Japan and provide aid then you can win a Gennaker in the process! But wait, there are TWO options to help through STOLAS Watch so read on!

The First option: STOLAS will host a 12 day raffle for a Gennaker. Each entry will cost only $20 and you can have as many entries as you like. A winner will be chosen at random and 50% of the proceeds will go toward the Red Cross Japan Tsunami Relief.

New FireFox Browser Skin

For those of you who use FireFox as your web browser we have a pleasant surprise for you!
STØLÅS Watch now has its own GENOA Persona. A Persona is a skin for FireFox that shows a nice picture at the header and footer of your browser.



If you do not use FireFox currently, you may want to look into downloading their new 4.0 version. It is quite nice and has a lot of features Safari & IE don't have.

STØLÅS Genoa Vs. IWC Aquatimer

After a few posts and reviews in certain media I wanted to straighten some confusion. Many people seem to refer the Harbormaster™ collection to the IWC Aquatimer since both have full lumed bezels.

To note, neither company knew the other was creating a bezel that had the entire warning track of the divers bezel full lumed. Both companies were creating their own design silent from the other in '08-'09. However IWC released their collection first because of their size and the design of their bezel. IWC's lumed bezel consists of a sapphire over the entire track of the bezel including the lumed area.

Our design required some new technology in chemical engineering to create a Lumed Bezel™ that was not protected by a sapphire. This included a multitude of time and effort creating a binder for hardening the luminescent pigments so as to not scratch off or be damaged. The end result allows for a clean simplified look.

Our design is Patent Pending as I believe IWC's is as well.

We actually didn't even know IWC's bezel glowed until last week. We had always assumed it was just colored like all their other divers as well as other brands.
